At 16ktn there is no chance to stay on the runway without using the rudder. You don't counter crosswinds by banking but with the rudder. Please let me know your thoughts/experiences. When I takeoff with no wind there is no problems, o i dont understand how 16 knots and effect this plane so much. I am wondering if you have had any problems trying to take off with a crosswind with this aircraft. That was untill today, I fly using real weather and I am trying to take off from KSTL and there is a 16 knot cross wind and everytime I start down the runway the plane almost instantly goes to the right and no matter how far i try to correct by banking left nothing happens and i veer off the runway. It has became my favorite plane to fly almost immediatly.
The X-Plane 10 demo is available to all software users as a free download with potential restrictions and is not necessarily the full version of this software.Originally posted by SetZer:I downloaded the IL-96 3 days ago after reading your post.
X-Plane 10 10 on 32-bit and 64-bit PCsThis download is licensed as shareware for the Windows operating system from simulation games and can be used as a free trial until the trial period ends (after an unspecified number of days). You're also able to edit the aircraft which are included with the install, making it easier for the community to learn to and to create new aircraft.īefore wrapping this up, here's a video which gives you an idea of the graphics it's centered on the Boeing 747. You're able to create and add literally any textures, sounds, airplanes and instrument panels that you want. The users who create custom content are really the heart of the community and in that aspect, X-Plane certainly doesn't let down. It just looks so great.Ī very important aspect of flight simulation is the community behind it.
While I can't stop trying to compare this with Microsoft Flight Simulator, I just also have to say that the graphics here are much smoother than MS Flight Simulator X and the details are just so stunning from the moving parts inside the jet engine to the very complex textures. You're actually able to run the simulation in space or even around Mars. Piloting an aircraft in X-Plane, unlike in MS Flight Sim, is not just limited to Earth.
Though as with pretty all products in this genre, getting the hang of flying a computer model airplane takes some time but X-Plane 10 promises to be much easier than "the other sim". Reportedly, the actual physics and accuracy in X-Plane compared to Microsoft Flight Simulator is noticeable. What's really amazing about X-Plane is how many users they've taken from Microsoft. The aircraft in the X-Plane demo is limited to 1 and only 5 minutes of flight, unfortunately.
With that said, the graphics here along with the realistic weather really make the game a pleasure to play. It's really hard to describe how cool this game is without showing you some videos, we highly suggest doing a quick search on YouTube to get an idea about how the graphics look. Turbo-props, jets, single and multi-engine aircraft as well as gliders and helicopters. Air Force, NASA, United, Quantas and US Airways.Įnter the world of X-Plane with some of the coolest aircraft available at your fingertips to fly. Unlike other flight simulators, X-Plane features real-world airline such as the U.S. Not to be confused with Microsoft Flight Simulator, this simulator is a newer variant of Microsoft's original game genre. X-Plane is considered by their own developers as the world's most comprehensive flight simulation game and we've gotta admit, a lot of work has been put in to this title which offers virtual pilots a very realistic flight simulator.
